What electric guitar should I get for indie-rock music?

Misguided Ghost asked:

I’m not really a beginner, I’ve just been playing acoustic.
Preferably under 500$.

Thanks!

Brooke

Get an Epiphone Les Paul or a fender Stratocaster

I would advise you to go to a guitar shop and play a bunch of guitars, and see what feels best. Part of what makes indie rock great is that you can play whatever you like. Fender, Gibson (Or Epiphone), and PRS, and Parker are all good brands, but just play what you like.

It all depends on what feels best to you.

Les Pauls are always great guitars. In that price range all you’ll be able to get is an epiphone though.
In my opinion Ibanez usually has a nice punk rock feel.
I do not recommend stratocaster unless you are really on a budget

Try a bunch of guitars out and pick one that feels right for you. But remember that a guitar will only sound as good as the amp it’s plugged in to.
