What’s a Good Way To Find Good Indie Rock?

Sausage Mahoney asked:

I, personally, have a few interesting methods. Usually, I just look up random artists on Wikipedia and test their music via Youtube. Nowadays, I download massive Indie Rock Playlists and test each song one by one. It’s a rather pain-staking process to simply get some refreshing material. I was wondering if anyone has their own methods of discovering new artists? Recommend some composers if you feel it necessary.

I follow SiriusXMU on Twitter. They play indie rock on satellite radio, and their Twitter is a realtime ‘now playing’. Also, go to this website, it’s awesome:
    hypem.com
And there are some really great indie blogs. I like Gorilla vs. Bear, Aquarium Drunkard and The Music **** the best!
    Good luck! :D

Go on sites like Pandora, Pandora is a site where you pick artists and it plays their music or music similar to theirs. You can give songs a thumbs up or thumbs down to really fine tune your stations. Hope this helped.
Edit: Although Pandora is great for any type of music, not just indie.

I like Pandora radio for showing me new stuff that is similar to the stuff I already like.
