Where are the best places to go in Sheffield that plays rock music?

I’ve just moved to Sheffield for uni and would like to know some bars or clubs that play rock and alternative music, as so far all the places i have been have played dance music, which is fine, but I need a change. Also, venues for live music I’d be interested in. If anyone can think of anywhere, please let me know!

The best would be Corporation, which is in the Devonshire Quarter (just off Division Street, or Leadmill, which is right near Hallam Uni. Casbah is also really good (near the moor) but has an older customer base.

If your looking for live music then there are many options. If your looking for small local talent then check out the acoustic nights at West Street Live (on West Street obviously) or The Vine, on Cemetary Road).
