Also, how does listening to rock music make you emo?
Because I like rock music, but I still like pop and all but people say its emo, its not metallica or anything just like rock..”
It doesn’t consider you emo at all. If you listen to pop and rock, SO BE IT! Your open minded with music, be proud of yourself! Listening to one type of genre of music makes you totally close minded with music and plus metalica isnt even emo! Metalica is metal. Hence, METALica. haha.
in a way though, were all emo. We just don’t walk around happy everyday all day. Were all human beings and we all have problems. So any sad song could even be considered emo really.

Well there’s emo music (and in my humble opinion, nothing is farther from real rock). I’m not sure what bands you’re talking about. But I don’t think listening to emo music makes you emo. Even wearing the clothes doesn’t necessarily. Mostly, it’s a mindset of rebelling for rebellion’s sake, of hating your life when you actually have it pretty good, trivializing things like ******* and depression because they think suffering is cool. It’s hypocritical – I mean, Hot Topic is not run out of a Marxist compound, people. They’re as capitalist as the most moneygrubbing Wall Streeter. It’s something that most people grow out of, and to those who never do, I feel sorry for you.
Sorry for the rant. But if you A) are reasonably happy with your life or are unhappy with it for valid reasons and B) can find your own **** without the aid of a map, you’re not emo in my book.
people are quick to judge. and if they don’t know what label to stick on you, they just bag you out for being weird.
I listen to rock and roll, like Chuck Berry, the Beatles and the rolling stones,
and other stuff like Pink Floyd, Alan Parsons Project and the Ramones, (to name a few) and I honestly have no idea what everyone says about me, probably something along the lines of, ‘that weird girl that probably has no friends so she hangs out with old people who got her into that music’ which isn’t true at all. i listen to that music because i like it, simple as that.
It doesn’t
You’re also doing the same thing though, you’re judging people by what they wear
I wear all black and I’m not emo, I just listen to alot of metal

Depends on what you call Rock…
To me: Metallica, Rage Against the Machine, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Alice in Chains, U2…
Rock
However: Fall Out Boy, Greenday, My Chemical Romance, Panic At the Disco, Coldplay..
Not Rock..
But yes I see where you’re coming from..
