Like I said, find some Christian bands with a sound that is sort of like what you usually listen to.
I think it can be a process. I’ve been saved for 10 years but it’s only in the past year that I listen 100% to Christian music and all other music (aside from classical) makes me feel ill.
The best thing to do is to take that pile of CDs you have and take them down to a used music store and sell them or put them on Ebay. Get rid of them and don’t allow yourself to buy another one.

Like I said, man. Try some softer stuff. I was really addicted to some of the heavy guitar riffs and harmonics, as well as just the emo sound. I was ******** addicted to AFI. I’ve found the same adrenaline in soft indie music like Tokyo Police Club and Silversun Pickups.
I guess the big thing is you can’t just quit cold turkey – you need to replace it with something softer. It actually is an addiction.

Ik voel de zelfde manier over rock. Ik brandde elk van mijn toen ik een Christen werd. Ik luister aan Christelijke rots en knal nu. U zult wennen aan luister niet aan het na een tijdje en het oude materiaal zal als het eten van teveel ongezonde kost klinken van mening is wanneer u net voor een tijdje eet. Enkel vraagt het kielzog omhoog elke ochtend en bespreking aan het eerste ding van de God en hem om u te helpen om in de Geest te lopen vandaag en hem te vertellen u aan gelieve hem in dat alles te willen u met de dag doet. Hij zal dat eren en u zal worden verrast hoe gemakkelijk dit zal zijn. Het goede geluk en de God zegenen!!
Probeer wat hiervan. Zij kunnen zachter zijn dan you' re gebruikt aan maar er zijn sommige werkelijk goede hardere Christelijke banden zoals Koekepan, Kutless, en Pijler .

De Bijbel Apol van Lal]I feel the same way about rock music. I burned all of mine when I became a Christian. I listen to Christian rock and pop now. You will get used to not listening to it after a while and the old stuff will sound like eating too much junk food feels when you eat right for a while. Just wake up every morning and talk to God first thing and ask Him to help you to walk in the Spirit today and tell Him you want to please Him in all that you do with the day. He will honor that and you will be surprised how easy this will be.Good luck and God bless!!
Try some of these. They may be softer than you’re used to but there are some really good harder Christian bands like Skillet, Kutless, and Pillar….

Don’t stop listening to Rock. Start listening to Christian music. When we are focused on what not to do, we become obsessed with it. Instead of focusing on ‘not doing it’ focus on doing what you think is right. I like air1.com. Others like k-love. When I lived in Des Moines I listened to kzzq. In western ny there is fln. You can listen live on line. Search one for your local area.

The top selling christian musicians found the top selling christian rock music did cut out because there are lots of different genres of christian some music and so could keep them guess you just have to lots of language found the top selling christian rock music and am christian.

Music isnt a bad thing, just because it isnt Christian music doesnt mean it doesnt glorify God, I agree music with vulgar language is wrong, but when you cut yourself off from the world compeletly, thats when you stop growing, you need to be out in the world where the lost are, spend time with them.

I just want to add that don’t try to do it yourself. That’s where the failure comes in. The Spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak Pray really hard for the Lord to be with you on this. He is listening, no doubt about it! He doesn’t want one of His own to fall. Who are you hanging with?? My pastor once told me you are who you hang around with That is so true. Do you have Chrisitan friends? If so, call them, and tell them you have this problem, and ask them if they could pray for you. Hang with them, instead. You know that there is also Christian Rock, right? I listen to it all the time. Not the real hard stuff, but, anyway, it glorifies God, so it’s ok. Music was created for Worship of God, not for our own pleasure, but since people are so self-seeking, they have come to use it for themselves, just like everything else. You hang in there. Your heart is in the right place, and the Holy Spirit has convicted you of this. That’s exactly how it starts. Your heart can be changed. Mine has, so I know this to be true. Talk to your pastor, and maybe he can make some suggestions. do other things to take your mind off your addiction. READ YOUR BIBLE!!! And, finally, read Phill.4:8 and memorize it. Everytime you start to think about something you shouldn’t, recite this verse. It will stick in your head, and it will help you alot. I will be praying for you! God Bless

I het soort had dit zelfde probleem zelf toen ik een jonger beetje was en nog in mijn Christelijk geloof groeide; that' s om nochtans dat I' niet te zeggen; ve hield lerend op of groeiend. It' s een aan de gang zijnde ding. Maar I' m heeft een reusachtige ventilator van rock en altijd van zijn verscheidenheid van sub-genres genoten. Ik werd ook geïntroduceerd en gewijd aan de zwaar metaalsoort en begon tevreden stellend in enkele zwart en donker metaal dat sommige van mijn nietgodsdienstige vrienden schenen te smaken. Dan, vertelde één dag één van mijn vrienden me om enkele lyrische gedichten eigenlijk te lezen die de banden in Mike zouden screeching of grommen. Wat ik vrij veel me verstomd doen gestaan vond. Het was het echte wekken dat ik meer verantwoordelijk moest zijn in wat ik me aan onderwierp. Sommige mensen hebben hier voorgesteld dat u de Christelijke rotssoort zou kunnen proberen, die inderdaad een beter alternatief is als u wilt gaan die route. Maar ik stel voor dat u ook andere genres van muziek onderzoekt die een minder negatieve of boze toon zouden kunnen hebben. Ik geniet persoonlijk van enkele electronica that' s daar, zoals trance, dnb (trommel n' baars), omringende, of zelfs gelukkige ********. Ska of punkmuziek van Indie zijn ook een beter alternatief maar raggae (of het raggaemetaal, zoals Skindred) waren een goed substituut aangezien het veel positieve, uplifting berichten evenals woorden van lonende strijd suggereerde. Mengeling het omhoog, zoals zij zeggen. Controleer uw eigen gevoel en houding wanneer u om het even welk van deze genres ervaart en ziet wat uw situatie verbetert. Ook, ben zeker om de lyrische gedichten te lezen en een gevoel voor de band (d.w.z., hun geschiedenis, hun doel, hun inspiraties) te krijgen. Ik luister nog van tijd tot tijd, enkele zwaar metaal ik groeide waarmee maar ik doe dit veilig in mijn geloof. De muziek kan u absoluut beïnvloeden en heeft een enorme macht op de menselijke ziel. Zo zorgvuldig ben wat u aan luistert en zeker bent u weet welke berichten (uitdrukkelijk of subliminally) door het art. worden overgebracht.

zo, zijn u bereid om aan seculaire te luisteren muziek die god in de lyrische gedichten verheerlijkt? wat over de christelijke popgroepen die verheerlijken god in de liederen maar het unchristlikeleven leven? u hebt werkelijk heel wat werk aan wat enkel te doen luisteren stemt als you' re ernstig over uw muziek verheerlijkende god. ook, it' s vrij aanmatigend van u beslist wat denkt de god verheerlijkt. hoe u god isn' kent; t dat op dit ogenblik schommelt uit aan geleide zeppelin?

I know you dont want any suggestions, but the best thing is to use replacements. I did this and it really was hard. But im happy to say ive succeeded. I deleted the crap on my ipod and just kept some softer stuff. Maybe thats what you should do, just listen to things that dont carry a bad spirit with them. I also put some scriptures on my ipod and started listening to them in my car. And of course pray and ask God to help you overcome your addiction. I dont mean that in a bad way, it just really is. Believe me I know. Hope I helped.
