What is wrong with my guitar? Why does it play like GARBAGE now? Rock Pop?

my $800 strat is just garbage now. The set up is okay, but i can barely play it at all. it’s a really difficult guitar to play. i **** it. the neck is like they just went into a swamp and got the wettest soggiest twig they could find to make it out of. i could play it before but something has happened and i don’t know what. sure, the low e string needs tightening but the whole guitar is just garbage. what can i do.

Is it american or foreign made? and what model is it. If you’ve had it for a while you should check to make sure the neck is properly aligned and that the intonation is still good. It’s kind of hard to know what the problem is without knowing HOW it plays like crap. Humidity and general care taking play a huge part in how a guitar fares int he long run. I oil my fretboard every time I restring the guitar. Did you change string gauges.
There are a variety of things that could be wrong with it.Or maybe Strats just aren’t the guitar for you. But Fender produces a large volume of high quality instruments and they have over 50 years to show for it. If you take good care of your guitar, it shouldn’t just crap out on you for no apparent reason.
