What’s the name of this rock/pop/blues-y, Bob Seger-like guy, he’s had a couple songs on the radio? Joe?

I really think his name is Joe something. He’s been on the adult contemporary rock/pop radio stations. In his songs, there are pianos, guitars, drums — your regular rock instruments.

His voice is solid and substantial, even velvety. Not Cooper…Not Crocker…

His songs are nostalgic, ballad-y, adult contemporary, and have a full sound, an old bar with good memories sound. Definitely like Bob Seger when he’s down tempo, magical, an almost shimmery yet layered feel. Some songs feel like We’ve Got Tonight by Seger or Wonderful Tonight by Eric Clapton.

Yes could be Joe Cocker (that’s who I thought of first). He’s famous for doing a knock dead killer version of With a Little Help from My Friends at Woodstock (the original one in ’69), he also did another great cover of a Beatles soong, She Came in Through the Bathroom Window. He’s MOST famous for You Are So Beautiful. He also did Up Where We Belong You Can Leave Your Hat On. His voice is really raspy ragged like Seger’s. Could be Van Morrison too, he’s got a real bluesy voice and very, very passionate intricate songs (Brown Eyed Girl, Gloria, And It Stoned Me, Wild Night). Maybe even old Rod Stewart. Someone mentioned Joe Walsh, but he’s best known as a guitarist, not really a singer or songwriter (though he’s all three)- famous for his work w/ the Eagles the James Gang (though he’s played on literally hundreds of songs by different artists)- some of his most famous songs are Life’s Been Good, Pretty Maids All in a Row, In The City. Joe Jackson is really cool too, but he’s not at all like Seger, though he’s a very, very good songwriter. But most of his stuff isn’t ever played on the radio. He’s famous (if he’s really famous at all) for Steppin’ Out, Is She Really Going Out with Him? and one of my all-time favorites Real Men.
